This research is aimed at establishing the theoretical foundations as well as the algorithmic foundations for the application of intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in the context of radar. IRS has recently attracted a lot of interest in wireless communications research. However, given its properties, IRS can lead to significant gains in radar signal processing applications.
